I know i havent been here for a while, but im back now smile1.gif I have a cagiva mito125, was quite cheap as its an earlier bike and i now want to take my 33bhp test, and get a 400, cbr, vfr, rvf or zx400. Was just wondering if anyone know's anything about this test, and is it basically a cbt (Or so ive been told) on a 33bhp bike?

Thanks in advance!

Sadly not. It is excatly the same as the "big" bike test, but you can take it on a smaller bike. Dunno what the exact requirements for the bike are (I can't be arrisd Googling), but I did mine on a SR125, so I guess it's a 125cc engine with about 14bhp.

The test consists of turn in the road, hill start, about 20 minutes of riding and a couple of questions. All done in a test situation with an examiner. Don't forget, you need to do your theory test as well.

Someone will be along in a minute to give you a bit more detail, but I'm off out ot play now....

the 33bhp test (on a 125) is the same as the DAS test so if u think you could do it on a 500 then it might be worth while so you arnt restricted for 2 years.

There is no 33bhp test. I assume you're refering to the A2 license which is a FULL test took on a 125, after passing this you are restricted to 33bhp for 2 years. The alternative is DAS which is the same FULL test took on a 500 for the A license.

I think you mean the A2 test. The A1 test is the crappola one that only lets you ride pushbikes and skateboards.

There is only oner test on a 125cc bike unless it happens to be twist and go, then as for the car licence you are restricted to automatic transmission all the time and 33 BHP for 2 years, however you can take your test on a bike of less than 125cc's if you do you may only ride a bike of up to 125cc capacity without L plates and may carry pillions. The best bet is to take your test on a bike of over 46 bhp if you are 21 years of age or older, it will work out cheaper in the long run as you then do not have to pay for a restrictor kit to be fitted.

Thanks DLAM, you are quite correct it is the A2 (post edited) bowdown.gif

Well, the test (Not sure on the name) allows you to ride ANY bike as long as it is restricted to 33bhp, and it is taken on a bike of above 14.6bhp. Thanks for the info grin.gif @ Dave
