Full Version: My CBT coming up on the first week of June!

I managed to ring a local motorbike and CBT firm roughly 15 minutes away by bus from my house yesterday. The employee said that the office was just about to close and that I should ring back after the Bank Holiday weekend on Wednesday 1st of June. They've got spaces lined up over the next week for the CBT and I've decided to go for it, probably picking the earliest day, either the 2nd or 3rd of June.

Even typing it now and looking back over the previous CBT threads that I've browsed through in this forum is making me nervous already lbhh.gif I've never ridden a scooter/moped but I've always been a keen cyclist. I just keep imagining myself tipping off right now, a rare occurrence on my mountain bike but my mind's telling me it will be an extreme possibility on a scooter (I don't intend on doing the CBT with a gears bike of course) laughcont.gif

But heck it, I'm going for it and though these feelings are kicking around at the moment, they'll either get worse or i'll suddenly forget about them :P Nevertheless, I'm feeling confident and I want to give it my best shot! I'll keep you updated!

Wish me luck everyone! grin.gif

Good luck chap, wait till you're going to buy your first bike! I was so excited I couldn't sleep.... 27 years and 47 bikes later I haven't changed.

Hiya Kring hello.gif you don't have anything to worry about I'm sure you will do fine with it. I used to ride push bikes loads before I killed my back (trials and downhill so back troubles have stopped it now) and I was thinking the same before I did my cbt. The good thing is it might sound stupid but experience on a bike even helps in my opinion as it gives you confidence with balance. The cbt imo is quite easy and when you get into it it's fun too. Luckily the sun was out for most of mine too which I was quite suprised at! Good luck though and I hope it all goes well for you keep us informed! buttrock.gif

Well, I booked my CBT for today and...

I PASSED!!! *laughs*

I'm so happy! I was really nervous at first but I built up my confidence during the off-road car park training and it followed on from there! I did make a couple of mistakes like slightly slowing down when overtaking a bus, the instructor was yelling down the radio telling me to speed up! lol. Also, I left a couple of lifesavers till the last minute hehe..there was one more thing and that was that I missed a turn when I was told to sad1.gif

Overall, EXTREMELY pleased and must say that I will continue to ride for a long time to come!

Thanks for the support of everyone, it really helped!
