Last year, I promised myself a camping trip around the north of Scotland with my son on the bike. It fell through because of the crap weather. Its back on for this year but I may be going with a mate instead. Are any of you planning trip for that week, that we call summer.

It would be rude to decline the offer wouldn't it? eyebrow.gif

I chance of a holiday with someday else picking up the bill.

Having a long weekend in Normandy from 24th April with 12 of my mates from around here, should be a good laugh, I'm also supposed to be going to Strasbourg in July for a week, part work part holiday.

This April we are going to Bangkok and onto Koh Samui to see some thai friends and will be hireing a cruiser to tour the Island.

We looked the Island over by jeep two years back and said it would be great to do it by bike, so a bike it will be this time and we will hire it for the full three weeks and not miss a thing.

......PROVIDING  theres no hostile threats over there??? as the war seems on the cards..

Was intending to go to Italy for two weeks in August.  All depends on whether I spend the money on a Triumph instead (see my next bike thread).

My main trip this year will be to the TT in May/June - I shall combine this with some extra mileage to visit Round Britain Rally landmarks.

I'll be doing the same on my way to and from a couple of rallies in May and August.

Might fit in a 3 day trip to Cornwall in July.

I could get a few nomads together for the North of Scotland trip if you like.

I'd be up for that. I can't promise to stay sober either and my pal Norrie is partial to guinness.

He was drunk when he said he go for it. I'll need to ask him again when he's sober.  :O

Plans so far:

May: NW200
June: Overnighter to Applecross but some others are going over to the Arran folk festival ... (jumpers not included?)
July: BMF rally @ Kelso
August: No plans ... yet ....
September: Pilgrimage to Braemar for the gathering - assuming they haven't banned bikers because of some "outdoor furniture incidents" of recent years .....

All of course subject to change ... but I do fancy a wee two or three night trip away July / August oop North, or down ot the Lakes, or Wales even ....
Anyone got any good places to visit or places to avoid?

- Spud - currently bikeless, but not for long.
Ian
If going to the lakes avoid the watery bits

Applecross, is a place I want to visit. I've seen pictures and it looks superb.

I have also heard the stories about the plastic furniture. Was there also a similar incident with a wooden picnic table..  :O

I haven't looked in here for too long, so I missed your reply Dave ... hmmm ... methinks one of my erstwhile colleagues has been breaking the "exercise rules" code of conduct for such forays.

I can neither confirm nor deny ... but buy me a pint and I'm anybody's. And before the Falcoholic chips in, it is not necessarily true that with two I'm everybody's ....

Oi Spud I think he may have been informed of these adventures during our Christmas night oot. eyebrow.gif

Anyhows, we must initiate Dave as to the "Touring Rules" grin.gif

I shall say no more. The secret of the plastic furniture is safe with me.

All I can say is that it involved goats, ropes, sex, a half gallon tub of clotted cream and a picture of big Mags Haney.  :O
