My son Alex has a Comet which new bought new a couple of weeks ago. He's done a fair few miles on it already and so far it's been great. It aint perfect by any means but it's a whole heap better than some learner bikes and they hold their value well. buttrock.gif
The only real problem he's had is the gear lever is very short and he's got big feet but he says he's getting used to it.
He's doing Dudley to Oxford on it tomorrow morning so we'll see how it goes on a longer trip.

Just got my comet today. Its a 53 reg. I don't have much knowledge of bikes but I think its great. Other then the L plates its a real head turner. Have had loads of people ask me what size it is already. Im having the same problems with the gear lever too. Im not gonna get used to it though Im gonna make a new one. Ive already gotten 60mph out of it. When I get it sorted the way I want it I'll try and write a little review of it. There really isn't enough info on the net about them to do them justice.

Follow the ongoing saga of Alex's Comet here. I'll vouch for a steady 71mph!

Fitting a hugger should be a pretty straight forward job. There's loads of room - it's just a case of try some and see I reckon.

Call me stupid but what is a hugger? I take it its not some one on pillion grin.gif

A friendly pillion - could be lbhh.gif

Hah it's a mudguard for the back wheel that keeps a bit of general crap off the rear shock and engine. Hugs the back wheel see! Oh, and they look cool too cool2.gif
