ok.. im p***ed off at the mo, decided to take my bike back to work after lunch being as its a nice sunny day.. went to get on and noticed something on the bike...

a scratch/scuff on my left hand fairing about 2cm long and about 1/2 cm wide..

what the f**? i thought.. how did that happen.. then it occured to me.. my nice new sidi boots have been rubbing on the fairing and one of the metal screws on the boot has made the scratch...... grrrrr.. ffs!!!

so i now got to have it fixed.... dp!!!!  altho a mate of my dad whos a paint sprayer reckons it should be able to be blown in ok..

when i get home ill put some pics up of the damage..

anyone else got sidi boots and had this happen? i was thinking of writing to the uk importer and asking them to cough up for the repairs? what do y'all reckon?

yours angryly!

If its that bad-send it up with the other bits (no extra charge)
I fear it will be a cold day in Hell B4 the importers will re-imburse you-duct tape on your nice shiney Sidis is the answer my friend.

Has it scratched through all the paint?
if its just the laquer you should be able to disguise it with some judicious use of T-Cut or similar-but judging from the tone of your post its well beyond that ooh2.gif
It can be saved-just dont ride it with those Sidis on any more. bum.gif
essex_biker
well here's the damage.. gone right thought the paintwork  :sniffle:
essex_biker
and heres the offending little beggar!

see how the screw head pefectly lines up.. on closer inspection the screw head has a burr on it that makes it a great gouging tool!

Similar problem with Alpinestars SMX boots. The plastc heel guards have scuffed the side panels on the viffer.  :sniffle:

Bummer EB,
Get yourself some Hein Gericke boots-not as flashy but warm, waterproof & comfortable & only 2 screws in the toe sliders.

Hope your dads M8 can sort it, if not, send it up with the other bits-no probs. cool2.gif
essex_biker
my old boots were hg ones. paid £20 for em at the bmf and never caused any probs...

went to see the mate of my dads whos gonna do it.. ( he owes my dad a few favours so he is not gonna charge me any labour) he ummm and arrrr'd  cos of the colour, so eventually i traced down a supplier.. after getting the paint code off the net.  Fortunatly there just up the road, so i managed to get  1/2 litre for £30 !  apparently they quoted me wrong as it should have been more because its a pearl colour, but let me have it for the original quoted price. i might even get it back before the weekend if im lucky!
devilpaint
So did that include the base silver? or is it just a pearl/blue base?
it starts to get complicated-no wonder your dads m8 umed n erred-i take it he "usually" paints cars?
Hope it turns out well EB.
Any probs, you know where I am.
essex_biker
apparently its a white base and you spray the paint i got on top of that..   Yeah he does normally paint cars dp and cheers for the help. should be getting the other bits off to you in the next couple of weeks hopefully  :D

Lets leave the poor sheep out of this. Unless its a good looker of course.    :O

DP, I spoke to Iain tonight. H had told him on the phone, that he though it was going to cost him a good few bob to get the bike back on the road because of the damage to the plastics. I've asked him to try and get some pics, so you can see how badly damaged they are.

He's a hell of a nice bloke is H. Lets hope you can do something with his fairing.

Dave ( DP ) dont think you got any worries there mate you live too far away ( unless off course i took a leaf out of TC 's book & flew up ) I am a very very hard man to upset.
Done my stress head days years ago.
