saw in mcn that riossi (formally carnell) were advertising aprillia futura's for £4995 :O so just out of curiosity i emailed them expecting them to say they had sold out.. nope they still have 23 left :O :O .. they would even take my tt600 as a straight swap :O :O :O ....... hmmm think about it i thought... went out to nose round some shops.. local dealer selling them too.. had a sit on one.. hmm quite comfy.. they actually have a centre stand! just not 100% won over on the styling...
have to think about it!

I was mildly curious also and have to agree about the styling. Those mirrors/indicators look very vulnerable and expensive to replace. That must be one of the reasons why the quote for insurance was 25% higher than for my viffer!

They pinched the styling for the clocks from my old vfr750fj.
The styling doesn't really jump out at me and ache for one. But I'd still have one at the drop of a hat, if someone offered but my bike is getting pretty old compared to the TT.

Id give my left leg for one of those.
Well, my spare leg anyway coz it never did fit properly.

I does look at lot nicer than I remember. I still prefer my bikes to be curvy though.

I think it was Spud who mentioned this last week.
Why the hell is the insurance prices for the trumpets so low. Not that I'm complaining, as I still want to own one.

Probably crash damage parts a bit cheaper and less likely hood of being nicked which keeps Trumpet insurance down.

Best quote I got just now after ten minutes of trying was £148.78 (tpf&t). this was with equity red star, my current insurers. bennets said £165 and strangely Zenith quoted £429!
Zenith also did not cover me to ride other peoples bikes. How the hell do they stay in business when they are so far off the market price?
i would love it if EB went for the futura coz then i could buy it off him in two years or so secure in the knowledge that it would have been well looked after and CERTAIN it would be immaculate. :eyebrow:

Out of interest this is the ST4 which most epople reckon to be very nice to ride and the charts are almost the same.

Mind you it looks as though the ST4 doesnt hit fifty foot pound of torque til around five grand where the futura is laying it down from about two-eight. I reckon that would be a lovely bike to ride although i have heard journo nonsense about poor economy (?) - probably means when thrashed round a track for two laps then extrapolated.

When I saw those pictures, looking at the fairing the first thing that came to mind was the shields on the little Dinky-toy field guns we used to have that fired matchsticks.
Ugh! a bike that looks like field-gun.........
No thanks!

I have to agree with Bobbi ... it's not my cup of tea at all ... looks like a boat, has a larger erse than moi, and not a bird magnet :

:
... why not go for a shexier prilly like a falco/RSV?
Then again hon, if you like it ... go for it

Bird magnet????
i have to disagree in that I have always thought the futura looks great.
it has always been my advice that if you think you could stand looking at your bike for a minimum half hour and not get bored then you should buy it - I could smoke fags and look at a Futura ( with www.ukbikeforum.co.uk on the numberplate obviously) all day long.
My bikes are probably the only selfish part of my life in that i buy them just for me coz they make ME happy.
Never had much luck with birds............................wierd.......
Go for it mate, go on, go on.......................I'd love a go on one of them!
