Can anyone help? After just buying my first bike, I have been let down by my neighbour who said I could use his garage. Now I'm faced with keeping my FZR600 outside on my drive!!!! So far, the best options I can come up with, is to get a Y anchor, a thatcham approved chain and lock and a good alarm fitted. Because of being mid - terraced, I cannot get it rounf the back garden and I only have a small driveway. Anybody got any other good ideas? (Apart from chaining a rotweiler to the bike!!)

where are u from Twiggy? (welcome BTW beer.gif)
I too park my bike on the road in front of my house (until I get my back gate sorted) I use a disc-lock, a cover, flashing LCD as no alarm fitted and a feck off great chain throught the back wheel and swingarm. If u can fit a wall/or ground anchor then all the better.

From Worcestershire - Thanks for the advice. Hopefully this won't be for too long!

The best you can do is make it look like hard enough work that anyone wanting to steal your bike will go and find one that is easier/quicker!

I was thinking about doing that too Sheb, but it won't fit in the porch, plus with the new carpet I might get into trouble lbhh.gif

Hi Twiggy,

Portius has just written an article on security. I don't have an image to use as a header yet but since it's needed, I'll let you folks see it.

I have exactly the same problem, except instead of putting my bike on my drive, I park it right outside my kitchen window at the front of the house. Where I have fitted a security light ( a nice victorian style carriage light, not one of those nasty looking halogen ones).

I use a concrete anchor with a huge chain and padlock through the swingarm and rear wheel, and a small chain and padlock through the front wheel.

I also fitted a jolt alarm. It'll not stop a professional, but it will scare the buggery out of an opportunist.

Oh, and it's all enclosed in an Argos bike cover to keep prying eyes away!

No ones take it yet, and it is a highly desirable SR125 lbhh.gif

for those of you who do have a garage if it isnt alarmed a good idea is to have one of them baby monitors and stick that in the garage then if any scum try breaking in hopefully you will hear them
Biker Paradise
Totally agree Cracker. I have one in the garage, although the bike has an alarm and immob too.

My bike is sitting in my back garden no locks or anything apart from the steering lock ( not even sure if that is on )

Believe it or not I can't wait for someone to try to steal it ( just so i can watch the fun )

I have no locks on the bike (tho do carry a good lock & chain for when im out )
What i do have is a 8 foot wall around my garden with a steel reinforced gate.
I also have a halogen sercurity motion senser light aimed at the bike
2 CCTV cameras one aimed at the bike one on the washing line post pointing down at the gate.

But my best alarm
