Am thinking of getting a slip on or bolt on race can for my triumph tt600 and would like some advice on the best makes and which ones to avoid. Cheers ! eyebrow.gif

I'd buy Triumph's own, they're good quality, reasonably priced (£250 for one for a sprint RS for instance, stainless), they say Triumph on the side so you're less likely to be pulled by plod, they sound really good, and they might even re-map your ECU for free if you ask nicely!!!

Failing that, Blue Flame Exhausts do pretty nice cans, you can have stainless, titanium, carbon, round, oval, tri-oval, race, road legal with removable baffle, single port, dual port with a cherry on the top etc etc....

They are reasonably priced, look good, are of quality manufacture and sound sweet.

No i don't work for them but after that i probably should mad1.gif

Hope that is of some use fcrossed.gif

I have a Nexxus stainless steel system which was on the bike when i bought it. It is OK, sounds quite good for an averagely priced exhaust and has withstood winter batterings quite impresively. Nothing amazing design wise but nice.

hello.gif Thanks for the advice peeps. Was looking at blue flame exhausts and microns. Triumph has a flat spot at around 3500-4000rpms and have been told a race can will sort the problem out. How hot are police on race cans ? Is it right you get points on your licence if they class it as illegal ?

Try Renegade. Have had twins and now a high level road legal one on my Sv650. To be honest it sounds nicer than the twins, and still scares dogs and old ladies. The comapny are based in Kent and are the most helpful i have ever known. Try their website......

Personaly i like Scorpions, they sound awsome.

Ok, if you're not over keen on Triumph's own cans, which are of exceptional build quality for the money, I personally would look at Renegade next, then Scorpion.
Blue flame - fairly loud, quality ok rather than wonderful, decent price for stainless though. Micron much the same, do reasonable carbon cans, Carbon Can Co make better carbon cans for the same money though. Busters currently selling ART cans - stainless oval race, carbon oval race, and graduated titanium oval race, all at £75 a can, may not have your fit but worth a call? Most important thing would be to get the ECU remapped, this may even sort out your injection flat spot without changing the can.
As for Plod, they're hot on cans in some areas in the summer (like Wales) but generally you're OK so long as you're not too offensive. No points, fine and rectification notice.

As far as i am aware most cans are ok so long as they dont have 'Not For Road Use' stamped on them. They should have the numbers, the bike manufacturer or nothing.

N.B Please dont quote me on this but this is what i belive to be correct.

My bike came with an Art stainless race can on it. It's erm very loud but I haven't had any problem's from police about it and there are a fair few about in my area. The blue flame ones look real nice they have a couple on display in the shop at squires, I'm tempted to get one everytime I see them!

ive decided to buy a complete system by yoshimura... the tri-oval one ... they were recommended by the Yamaha dealer here and a few fellow bikers ...

I've got ART cans on my Busa sound is lovely,, I used to have Scorpion's on my Thundercat - again nice sound.... I've never had any problems with the Police - just remember to swap them back to originals when you get it MOT'd

I think all Slip-ons are much the same - a complete system will cost a packet but will add much more HP to the bike.... all depends on what you want

My friend had a complete system fitted to his TT one of the High mount sets - about £2k.

bowdown.gif Thanks for all your imput folks ! There obviously doesnt seem to be one outstanding make of can judging by all the different replies !!! Thanks Zimbo, will def take a closer look at Triumphs own cans. Will know if I still have flat spot after can is fitted then I def have to get ECU remapped. Would love to get a £2k full monty system Andy S if I had the dosh !!!! But as Ive only had the bike a month or so and its already had 2 theft attempts on it I dont really want to give them anymore encouragement sniffle.gif Cheers peeps beer.gif
