Over the last 8 months or so Ive sent for spares for the rebuild of my Triumph, BUT the spare parts are dear enough and I would have thought enough profit margin was there without over charging on postage.
As we all have to send for our spares doe's any one else think we are ripped off with the postage charged by the mail order supplier? or is it me being TIGHT again?.
What do you recon then?????

Nah, it racks me off when you're charged a fiver for p&p, and it comes in a tatty box with 30 bobs worth of stamps on it.

Some are a real rip off but I've come across a few goodies. I bought a chain & sprocket kit for the viffer from FWR last year. They charged £5 for all their deliveries. The kit duly arrived next day, all the way from the London (400 miles). I was well impressed.

I have been dealing alot with Wilemans in Derby as given by Fastfitter, they have two post prices one at about £2 50 to cover up to £25-00 then £5-00 ish to cover over £25-00 but they use there heads as a very small part can be above the £5 -00 postage but they send it at the cheaper rate so they keep such as me, GOOD DEALERS WILEMANS ARE as they say in Derby eh Fastfitter..

I think the best service I had was when I bought replacement diaphragms for the GT carbs from a small firm called NRP - their ad said they would fit the diaphragm to the slides if needed, and that seemed a good idea to me, so I phoned and asked how much extra that would cost - the bloke said, Oh just a bit more postage when we send them back to you. Can't remember how much the postage was but I do remember it was almost exactly the value of the stamps!
And I got them back only a few days after I sent them off.
Big up to the local Kawasaki dealer as well - I phoned them first to find out the cost of diaphragms and he said "Can't remember offhand, but you don't want to buy them from us, they're far too expensive". That's service, too.
