Does anyone know of a company that does re-wiring for bikes?
I'm looking for info on new looms/wiring kits/retailers sort of stuff.

Guess wot? I need to re-wire the bike.

Not exactly bike re-wiring, but when I chucked a V8 into my Scimitar a year or so ago-I used a company which supplied everything I needed to chop & modify the loom.I shall see if I still have the address.

Measure the dsiatances on the bike to the lights switches etc and bang some nails into a plank or similar that match these.  Then buy all the colours of wire that you need, get a wiring diagram and rig it up on the plank.  You may have to buy assorted connectors of the type used originally but they are usually standard electrical things stocked by RS and the like.  Takes a while but if the diagram is nicely colour coded it really it isnt that difficult.  Having said that Ive only done it once but it worked really well.  this was on a kawasaki ar 125 as the wiring loom was over a hundred quid and i didnt have the money at the time.

Zombie mate you astound me, your creative appeal is far beyond belief...

TO DAY WE WILL BE MAINLY TAKING ABOUT  PLANKs

PLANK + NAILS = PUNCTURE OUTFIT

PLANK + WIRE =  SHELF IN GARAGE

  PLANK+ 2 MEN  =  ERIC SYKES   =  THE PLANK = ZOMBIE

MIND THEM sNAILS NOW!! O'L Mate

Every garage or self respecting workshop should have at least one plank - plug's has plug..

Hey, thanks everybody, especially Plug (and Dave) for the links, Zombie for the plank. As for Blandwit, well you got your name right at least! grin.gif
The bike is a 1978 XS400 (I know, I know!) All original, All in reasonable nick, except the wiring of course, which is totally fecked with a capital "FUH"
As I only paid £50 for it, and even the ORIGINAL front and rear mudguards are solid (undersealed!) and I got a spare engine with it, I thought "It has to be worth a go"! Being an optimistic bastard, I even think I'll get it running this year!

Thanks again for all your comments, the helpful ones I will (hopefully) use, the others gave me a chuckle at least!

CHEERS ALL! :buttrock:
