Well, much as I hate to admit it but the XJ isn't quite designed for how I want to use it. So, the choice is:

A. I sell it and buy a fazer
B. I sell it and buy a divvy 900
C.I fix it up a bit (DP told me how, something bout the carbs, lol I'm a numpty)
D. I move, save money, take out another loan and buy a 2nd bike, thus living in penury til I'm 90

Don't get me wrong, I really, really love Rory and I don't want to get rid of him, but if I'm gonna carry on doing the mileage I am I don't think he's gonna keep up.
Any ideas peeps? bearing in mind this ain't gonna happen til after Xmas anyway.

I'd say see how you feel after Christmas, things change and come and go....

I doubt if a Fazer is going to be much different to your XJ.
Earlier XJ 900's were supposed to have poo handling.
Buy yourself a Thunderbird........ or a nice yellow Daytona. I love the bike but I fancy a change.

Seriously tho, a fazer will make a hell of a difference, Roks' bike has so much more than my baby.
And Chris, I will feel the same after Xmas, I know.

Fazer-i suggested changing the sprockets (the toothed wheels the chain goes around) to give you a bit more acceleration/top speed depending on how you go.

if you can get around the allegedly uncomfy fazer seat, thats the way i would go.
or a bandit6-but they are just as heavy as the xj.
what about a zr7 kwack?
750 cc, good around town with a bit of a more modern chassis than the xj.
que all the other suggestions...............

Get a room. wwww.gif lbhh.gif

With the miles you do at the moment, I reckon you could do worse than a VFR800. They look a bit heavy, but I haven't ridden one, so couldn't tell you.

If your thinking of a second bike how about a CB500 there a honda so they run forever, there cheap if you kow where to look and there really easy to work on and the most important bit there a fun bike to ride ypu can go to work and go for a ride after work

A mint CB500 is about £2400 but if you shop around (go to training school) you can pick up a good bike for about £1200 to £1550 it my have high miles but it's been service and looked after

Get yourself a ZZR 600. They're fast, comfy, fine looking bikes.
Have a look at the Autotrader website and see what takes your fancy, I saw a Thunderbird recently for 2500 quid.
