Hi i have a 1995 model GSF400 Bandit and i'm thinking it would look really good if i fitted gsx-r fairing to it and some other nifty parts. Before i start getting into it i thought id ask if anyone else has done it or has any info i could use.

If anyone has any info or drawings or anything that could be helpful, i can provide an email address so as not to clog the forum.

I'm thinking of fitting either a GSXR 600 750 or 1000 fairing. I'll decide by working out which requires the least modifiaction.
Ive got a few specific questions:

1. Will GSF600 Braided hoses fit a GSF400 without modification?

2. Can GSXR fairing frames be modified to fit a GSF400 frame and or will they fit straight away?

3. Will the fairing panels then fit?

4. Will GSXR lights fit within the fairing frame and run with the bandits alternator and battery?

5. Can rears sets be either bought specifically for a bandit 400 or will 600 ones or gixxer ones fit?

6. Will a GSF600 slipper clutch fit a GSF400?

7. Can a gixer tank directly replace the bandits without adjusting the fuel pump and such?

thanks very much.

wouldn't it be easier to buy a gsx-r??

i would think the brake hoses would fit, or there are places that make em up for you

is the frame alloy? if it is your gonna have problems! its not the best thing to wield, plenty of specialist but costs a far bit, and it needs to be done right if your hanging a fairing off the wielded bits!

the alternator should be ok, but maybe an idea to look at the spec for both bikes on charging output, suzuki tend to share charging systems thro out the range

i'm not sure about the rest m8.... personally i'd streetfighter it , it'll be a lump cheaper eyebrow.gif

sell the B400 & buy a gsxr6-way ,way easier than trying to modify it-your ins will go up because of the mods.
have you actually got a fairing? up here a good one will be like hens teeth to find & the price will be steep.

you are seriously restricting the selling on aspect of the bike as well-your idea of a great mod is someone elses nightmare.

not trying to put the dampners on it, just offering a realistic viewpoint. good luck.

ive not got the fairing yet. im just testing out ideas. The reason i'd buy a B400 over a gsxr is cuz ive got a mate that is selling a Bandit for 500 quid and i cant really afford much more than that. Any one know anyone selling a 33bhp restrictable machine for cheap? im just in my 2 year qualifying period so i cant get a gsxr600 withouth restricting it and i think that would be far to expensive for insurance. Although that is my long term plan!

Cheers for the advice

I know this thread is old, but is the GSF 400 less than 33bhp? I cant find details on it anywhere...

Why not trade up to a gixxer?
Save a lot of work.....

hope your gsf400 isn't as much hassle as mine, afaik quite a few gsf600 bits fit but having not adapted or modded mine an with no intention of doing it thats all I know, mine is a 90 import and theoretically most of it is a gsxr400 minus fairing so would think theoretically again that it would fit but don't take my word for it. I purely have mine until my restrictions up. I do have the service manual on cd if its of any use I could attempt to fathom the cd burner Oo1.gif
