These are snippets of info I get via our press watch service, I've half an idea the first bit regarding death rate on mopeds etc will now become a topic of investigation to see if its a manipulated figure (not that our government would manipulate anything , nah , nah , nah far be it from me ever to suggest such a thing, OH no the thought would never cross my mind deary me no).
A person on a moped or motorcycle is three and-a-half times more likely to die than someone on a pedal bicycle.Greenhouse gas emissions have risen by 39 per cent in 20 years, although the use of catalytic converters and cleaner fuels have improved- local air pollution. And about 20,000 hectares of land - an area three times the size of Nottingham ~ has been gobbled up for transport use since 1985.
Deputy Prime Minister John Two Jags' Prescott launched a campaign after Labour came to power to encourage greater use of public transport, to little avail.
And Environment Minister Michael Meacher, who also drives a Jaguar, was recently forced to abandon his crusade to price people out of their cars. He said in future the Government would use 'positive incentives' instead.
The newly-formed Department of Transport has spent more than £93million of taxpayers' cash on consultants in its first seven months, or £3million a week.

You know the trouble with politcs is
no matter who you vote for the goverment get in lol.
When you think about it you know every run up to election we all hear the bollox & bullsh!t that these so called honest polititions come out with.
So we get swayed one way or the other we go down to the polling booths & place our vote & we either get a new prime minister & cabinet or we dont.
But now think about this the real power is held by men who you never hear about they sit in thier little gray offices in whitehall making decisions that could alter the way everyone lives.
Do they have to be voted in every 4 yrs or so do they hell.

Womble you v'e hit the nail on the head about men in grey suits.
I know a couple of them, very slimey characters they are too, you have to be very careful what you say when your around these guys I know to my cost how easy it is to say the wrong thing at the wrong time.
One man in particular is a head of department, very manipulative he is too, I don't know if you ever liked Yes Minister but I can assure you this guy is sir humphrey personified.
