I've just bought a kawasaki kmx 125 laughcont.gif laughcont.gif laughcont.gif

bought it for a bit of green lane use and for the wife to get some experiance as she's just passed her CBT.

Theres only one problem though it's restricted sniffle.gif

If anyone knows how to de-restrict them please let me know any advice would be grateful

Cool- another Kawak in the fold then buttrock.gif

what is the bike restricted to Syd?

If your other half only has her CBT then it can't be de-restricted above 13(ish)BHP or your licence & insurance will be void and you (well, your lady) will get her ass kicked!
The KMX is a fun bike though... I hope she has loads of fun on it.

oooops

forgot about the legal side of things veryangry.gif

I'll keep it restricted till she does her DAS then

hopefully she will pass it before christmas

Hi Sydney, nice looking bike.

I am new to all this, but that day-glow stand type thing it is on, where do you get them from? I have yet to buy my first bike blush21.gif , but am trying to get everything I need first (got jacket, boots and gloves). As my bike will be sitting in the front drive, I will need summat to hold it up in the wind. Would that do the job?

Cheers.
sydney
hello mate hello.gif

yep it will do the job also comes in handy for maintanace as well

they are called paddock stands and they cost about £25

That's called a Padock Stand and you can get them from any decent Bike shop (or online). And if you do your own maintenance (like adjusting the chain and stuff) then it's ideal as the bike needs to be kept upright- and sidestands won't do that.

Hope I didn't sound too stand-offish there sydney. But would hate to see someone loose their licence over something avoidable like that grin.gif

Don't worry about it mate laughcont.gif

I often need reminding about the legal side of things wwww.gif

Or you could just buy a bike with a centre stand or is that being far too practical? Oo1.gif
Dance_like_a_monkey
But are centre stands as sturdy? I will be getting a CG125 (or similair), which I know has the centre stand, it just doesn't look like it would stand up to a heavy wind. Or would it? And would the Paddock stand?

I bow down to superior knowledge bowdown.gif (especially as, as I say, I haven't even got a bike yet!)
Ian
You will find the centre stand a hell of a lot easier to use than a paddock stand. I had a CG for a while and it easily stood up to gale force winds on its centre stand. We don't get that many winds strong enough for you to seriously worry about it being blown over. If it's is out on the drive it's much more likely to get nicked than blown over so spend your money on a good ground anchor, lock and chain, not a paddock stand. If you are really worried about it then a couple of anchor points and a tie down would be better than a paddock stand.
devilpaint
you will prolly find that a paddock stand will be too wide for the swingarm on a cg 125-do what ian said-spend the money on a decent lock.

I was going to get a good lock as well anyway, but thank god I don't need to buy one of those stands, it's one less thing to have to buy! Biking seems to bleed your money away!
Anth
Ahh- but it's more than worth it once you get on the road buttrock.gif

As for kids- that's not my department... at least it better not be! :panic:
