I think i fancy a v-twin , maybe an sv or a firestorm but im open to ideas.I really like the look of an R1 but i would be dead within days. The insurance on the sv and firestorm is really good.

I bought a nice V Twin for a not dissimilar amount of cash but deals like I got don't come around very often.
Don'y buy a Vee twin less than a 1000cc
IMHO you understand, but then I'm a convert

Unfaired used Hornet for £3800 is robbery if it's more or less stock ... or he's chancing his arm. You can buy a new one for £4000 OTR with a 2 yr warranty.
If you're thinking of a V-twin make sure you try one if you've never had one. If you do a lot of town riding it might get you down.
Personally- I love 'em!! Almost as much as a triple.

You'd get quite a few 600 for that price. The cbr600 seems to be a favourite. A Kwak ZX-6R is nice. Then again, you could pick up a VFR750 for that price.

£3500 in cash can but you a hell of a lot of motorcycle - especially at this time of year. You'll get a cracking Fazer or Hornet for that money with a load of warranty left if you don't want an out and out sports bike like a ZX-6R. CBR for that money is probably going to be a couple of years older than the ZX-6R for the same cash.
Check out the insurance though. I was after a VFR last year, but couldn't stomach the insurance bill for it. However, while I can't insure a 750/800 VFR, I can insure a 900cc Triumph. For just under half what I was quoted for the VFR. Yes, just under half.
No contest. Cupar have a nice Sprint Sport in if you like that sort of thing. If you are, do you fancy a British Racing Green Sprint Executive with colour matched Triumph luggage, hugger, touring Scottoiler .... ? I might know someone who's been tempted by a new discounted old-model Sprint RS and who's thinking of selling his Trumpet.
What style of bike are you after?
No matter what, you'll have fun shopping!
Enjoy it!

I've had a play on both an SV and a Fazer. The Fazer will whip it once speeds get up to instant ban territory, but for grunt to overtake slower traffic, the SV was more fun. It is maybe a bit cramped if your tall and are going for the S version. For me, a non-faired version with something like a Powerbronze venom nose would be the one.
You buy what's available. The right bike will find you.

There's a joke about a TL's number plate logo, saying, 'my other violent slapper is at home'. :Oo:
It is supposedly very good, if you're a bit heavier but not so good for lighter personages.
