Dear Supporter,

Thank you for visiting the KillSpills website and adding your name to our on line petition. Without your help, our campaign would not have made such an impact.

-Are you fed up with diesel spills?
-Do you want to improve road safety for bikers and other road users?
-Do you want to be part of one of the biggest bike rallies London has ever seen?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions then the KillSpills Team would like to personally invite you, and as many of your biking friends to join us at the KillSpills road safety rally to be held at the Ace Café London at 11am on the 11th September.

Don’t just read about it in the news and magazines, be a part of it! Join the KillSpills team at the Ace Café, Ace Corner, North Circular Road, Stonebridge, London, at 11am on the 11th September 2004.

The route will take the rally from the Ace Café, onto the North Circular road, heading towards Hangar Lane. We will then take the A40 to Paddington, turning off onto the Edgware Road, Park Lane, Marble Arch, Constitution Hill, Queen Victoria Memorial, The Mall, Trafalgar Square and on down Whitehall. The bikes will park at Millbank. We will set off at approximately 12.00 hours from the Ace Café, arriving at Millbank at 13.30 hours. The KillSpills team will continue to Downing Street and hand the petition in at 14.00 hours. The team will return to Millbank around 14.30 hours where there will be time for group photos. A minute’s silence in memory of 9/11 will be held at 15.00 hours. The Police will then escort the rally back to the Ace Café

If you intend to come to the rally, reply to this email and let us know your coming.

The rally is designed to be a fun day, showing the caring and responsible side to motorcycling, whilst delivering what we believe to be a very important road safety message to the Government. The route we will take will pass a lot of the major sights so there will be plenty of opportunity for you to waive at passers bye.

The KillSpills team really appreciate your support, we can and will make a difference, and your attendance here today re-enforces our safety message.

Visit http://www.killspills.org.uk for more details.

Thank you for your support, we look forward to seeing you at the rally.

Just put my name to this too. Not had "the diesel experience" yet thank goodness, and no desire to, either !

I've had the diesel experience. It certainly wakes you up in the morning. ooh2.gif

I was coming home from nightshift one morning at 7:00am. The problem with that time of the morning is that the buses have filled up their tanks for the day and seem to be happily sloshing diesel at every corner.

I was riding around a corner with a dip in the road mid bend. I saw what I thought was a small pool of rain water collecting in the dip. Being tired, I rode right through it, only to find out it was diesel. ooh2.gif First the front wheel slipped, then the rear. I very near keeked myself... Very near.. ooh2.gif Luckily, I didn't come off but I was wide awake after it. sniffle.gif

Hmmm...maybe, I'm free next weekend. I'll post later this week. Not sure I fancy an hour and a half bimbling through town TBH ( the 'tona likes to avoid cities/ big town centres for some reason :tounge: )....have to consider the alternatives...might just ride up the Ace in the morning and decide from there whether to tag along or head for the open road..and roundabouts...and diesel spills...hmmm...

I'll get back to ya..

i cant make it-& jnr has develpoed a habit of falling asleep on the back if i go more than 100 miles.
so, good luck to those that are going & i sincerly hope it has some effect.
got to say tho, unless you educate every diesel driver, i cant see much of an improvement.

Decided an another option, Bovington tank museum then drop in on a mate Bournemouth way for beer and talking bollox. Been trying to get there for months, finally a convienient weekend for it. Besides, the New Forest is nicer than the north circular!
Have fun Faze (and anybody else who goes). cool2.gif
