I'm slowly building up my kit in preparation for my test.

Just went out at lunchtime and bought some Frank Thomas "Spectra Race" gloves. I can't find any info on the net about them to show you though..

While I was at the bike shop I saw the exact bike I want.. it's the last year that they made in the colours I want and has low mileage.. and it's spotless.. if I'd already passed I'd have put a deposit down there and then.. It better still be there in a months time!

Pointless post..

Thank you and good night..

So, what bike was it? rolleyes.gif

Guess.. based on me doing DAS so I don't have to ride the probationary period on the smaller bikes..

I originally liked the silver and black version that came out in 2001 but my mates dad has that so I can't get it sad1.gif but I like this colour now:

That looks way cool, go for it but it now and store it before its gone forever.
Its one of those things in life, you know the one you want is that one and any
other one will not do... does that sum it up cos thats me to the T...

Cheers

Sit on it first - get the guy to hold it so you can sit it properly - make sure it feels as good as it looks and then Put a tenner down on it before someone else gets it , do the deal and then it's yours for when you've passed grin.gif

My mates dad has a 2001 cbr and I've sat on that and it feels fine.. doubt he'd let me loose on it just yet to test ride it mind you smile1.gif

I doubt they'd keep it for a month for me - what would happen if I didn't pass my test...

I hope it's there next month though cos it's perfect...

What a stunning looking bike! ooh2.gif

They might keep the bike for you, the dealer I got my VFR from were happy to keep it for me until I passed. And as you know, I did fail first time. It's worth asking them about the idea anyway, you have nothing to lose. Think they ended up holding on to it for over a month.

quite often it takes a while for the shop to get the bikepdi's anyways, so they normally have it at least a week, if not a couple, before it's ready for you to pick up anyways! They'll often twist their arms backwards in order to seal the deal anyways!!!

it's worth a try!

i rather like the cbr's too! I like the black one with the small amount of that orange on the side, urban tiger I think they call it!!

but that colour's nice too!!!

just be careful if that's the one you do end up with! Lots of plastics to damge if you do drop it!! + you don't wanna go + damage u're baby!

sorry for the late reply, just workin my way through a load of the posts
Sodom
Yeah the black with the red "CBR" down the front fairing - I like that one too - that's another I'm thinking of.. it all depends what's available if and when I pass..

What's a "bikepdi"??? It might be worth me going up there and having a word with them a couple weeks before my test.. see if they'd take a deposit and keep it a few weeks on the understanding that I'll buy it if I pass...

PDI = pre delivery inspection grin.gif
Sodom
and that can take 1 or 2 weeks? must be a hell of an inspection...
messymuppet
it doesn't take 1 or 2 weeks, only takes about an hour, or maybe a couple of hours if some work has to be done (like changing tyres or brake pads) or if an mot has to be done.

But in our place, because the workshop is busy, and it's such a huge shop, it can sometimes take a couple of weeks to get round to it, if they've got a lot of jobs on!!

best thing to do is go and speak to them! They can always say no!

+ cheers fazer, i didn't actually know what the letters meant! mad1.gif just knew it was a general inspection + top up of levels etc. before the bike leaves the shop. For new bikes this takes a couple of hours, but for used bikes it's normally just an hour
