Hello i would like to know the pros and cons for the following two bikes the kawasaki zx12r ninja and the suzuki gsxr1300 hayabusa they seem to be fairly similar but not having ridden either of the bikes i have no idea.
devilpaint
the busa is more comfy over long distances-i followed my m8's for 8 days on the continent & he never looked uncomfortable on it.
the zx is more of a track day missile & shreds tyres at an alarming rate, but still a bike i drool over, just the thing to pop to the shops on.

iam 6ft 4 would i be comfortable on the hayabusa

I 2nd the first reply, the Hybusa is pure evil and its not a machine to be taken
lightly, its a widow maker, at nearby bike shop here in Milton Keynes I must have
counted at least 10 Hybusas for sale, why so many in one shop Im not sure.
The guy who owns the shop tried to convince me to uy one but I wasnt having it
I was after a ZZR1100 which I got on friday past.

The ZXR1200 hasnt for some unknown reason had a good rating but then neither
did the ZZR1100, until a recent review into 2nd hand bikes they said the ZZR1100
(D5 onwards) was one of the most underated bikes around and so brings on the
question no doubt the ZXR1200 will be the same, but it is a MOD missile launcher.

Cheers

Are there any more bikes in this class?

Isn't there an un-faired blackbird already? I can't remember what it's called but it wasn't a big seller.

Silly me, I thought that was only compulsory on the ZZR! sniffle.gif mad1.gif swivel.gif

Obviously not !!!!!!!!! they ARE for Hondas and I seen them handing them out to the
oldies on the quite as party bags..........

Have fun with the slippers

This is gonna sound harsh but what others think of these bikes doesnt amount ot much . You may or may not agree with them, you WILL have to test ride either. thats the only way to choose .

Dave - there is no unfaired blackbird. its a common error mate, the X11 has the same engine but a different frame and is a totally different bike. youre right in that it sold badly and has now been withdrawn from the range . it was a bargain in its last days at £4995 new and otr. It is and was a fabulous bike that died a death because it was regarded as ugly although i thought it looked 'hard' !!. mymates got one and he loves it.

Maybe the reason there are so many Busas for sale is the same reason my mate flogged his - he is a complete nutter but even he decided the Busa would kill him if he kept it cos he was always trying to find out how fast it would go.........

OOH- nice buttrock.gif

X11 eh? I'll have to remember that grin.gif

... Interesting, I would'nt have thought that would be the main reason for buying
such evil, I on the other hand prefer big 11's for their power more than speed.
When its needed its there, open up and you pass safely with a dash of speed of
course but everything in moderation and at the right time when safe to do so.

I don't know why he didn't just read the specs. The answer to his question would be 186mph & it will do it because it's RESTRICTED to this (according to MCN). Wonder if it can easily be de-restricted 'cos 186 doesn't seem quite fast enough!! lbhh.gif

Can't say really,,,,

I think either is tooooo much for me....

maybe in a few more years, when I feel a bit more confident etc......

I still got many Miles to get there.......

LMAO DP swivel.gif it takes us oldies to ride them, would scare the crap out of the young uns. It's been the bike of the year twice and never been out of the top 5 in the RIDE survey since it's launch in 97. That must say something about its pedigree.
As for the top speed of the Busa and the ZXr 12 the blackbird is only 2mph down on them
I have had sport bikes ZXr750, Zx9r(ninja) and Fireblade all mad1.gif bikes but for comfort, performance and overall reliability you would be hard pressed to find a better bike
AS to our friends initial question on which one, it's really down to personal preferance. test ride each one if you can, i think you will be pleasantly surprised with the blackbird

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of.

I think the main reason for thinking they were ugly was because of the eight tonnes of plastic surrounding the radiator. wwww.gif There was enough plastic on it to make a full fairing lbhh.gif
