Re the centre lines - think I'll have a toodle up to Salisbury and see for myself when we get a decent day - I'll let you know what I think.

A lot depends how drvers react to it.  There's a lot of traffic on the Wilton Rd.

DR, saw it M8-see my thread beeb 1 999-like you I couldnt belive what I was watching-they did themselves & biking in general no good at all.
I would like to go out on my cruiser with them-once they realise a 750 twin can keep up with them without going all over the road, they may stop to think about what they were doing-but I doubt it.

as usual I agree with TC-but when did the beeb ever care about balanced reporting?
I knew I wasnt the only one to watch that programme in disbelief-trouble is-from the viewers point of view-if we made a vid of "responsible" bikers, it would go down like a lead balloon, exciting seat of the pants stuff it wouldnt be.
What worries me is the girl who was injured is still with the prat-& he still thinks he's a biking God. devil1.gif
Good point about the hand-waver Hilts, brain cells not abundant in that particular group.

Read about this experiment on the MCN site. Seems to make sense. It seems that there are some good ideas on safety happening abroad, while we're still using steel cables for crash barriers.

Some ive seen should be renamed as 'hideous potential injury' barriers.  Im talking the twisted steel 'rope' trick here people.

Hi did anyone see the programme 999 last night. There were two Bikers hurt in a crash. The guy and his female pillion rider went over a bridge in some back country road and landed in the stream. Im not a bike guru but these guys ride at 80 to 120mph and they say thats not fast for a bike i say it sounds reckless. There where about 3 or 4 bikers that day and they frequently cross to the other lane the right side of the road on corners and everywhere. They claim was that its ok as the guy in front checks the road and if there is no traffic and the roads clear he he puts his hand up to signal.

Still sounds dodgy to me. The girl cracked all her right ribs one left rib. Dislocated her pelvis and broke her back in two places she may have even broke a femur ouch.

Hear hear!

I didn't pick-up on that thing about the rider you are following waving, on sighting a hazard, until I read this thread. Is that for real?

'Oh sorry mate - couldn't wave cos I had to brake so hard to avoid the [insert hazard here]'
