Interesting that he couldn't get into the slower group but I can see why the case was found in his favour, for that reason.

I remember reading a post on a forum, where the bloke said that supermoto's were allowed out in the fast group. ooh2.gif

Bit scarey that.

Confession time-I've never done a track day-never felt the need( used to proddy race a long time ago).
I would have thought it was on an \"own risk\" basis.
This litigationous? society will screw everything eventually.
better organised & licensed track days are the way to go-but its a high risk sport-& no matter how well organised they are accidents will happen.

Interesting DP (it's 'litigous' I think).

Can't imagine ever wanting to do a track-day myself either.

I reckon the increasingly litigous tendency is likely to be met with increasing vigilant disclaimer clauses by the dangerous sports organisers, and better standards, as TC said.

Don't you have to sign a disclaimer or something at these things?

Presumably he agreed to join the fast group - though I can just imagine them saying 'you'll be fine mate'.

Although in some ways you'd expect the faster group to be more competent as well as faster...

slight derailment but when i crashed and lost my leg i had a bank loan on the bike. i was informed by my employer that i would not be paid sick leave.  The bank would not cough on my repayment insurance because they didn't cover motorcycle accidents, wether driver or passenger. I went to see the manager, minus my leg, and he put the claim down as "bicycle accident" which was covered.  Good for him.  And for me.

Thing is that maybe a smash on the track may be more trouble than first thought?  Is there any motorcycle accident insurance?
