My mate has just bought a CB400 custom (superdream type thing) for his lad when he gets back from Canada in a few weeks and we have just gone up to sort it out. Unfortunately we have found that either the big ends or the little ends have gone. We need another motor.

Anyone got one hanging about that is not knocking its danglies off?

I live in Stoke so anywhere within a 50 mile radius would be ok for us to pick up but will consider motors further away for the right engine (yeah right, as if we're gonna find a mint 5K mile example!!).

Ive got a spare top end and carbs if you find yourself needing em, but no spare engine, i have a CM400 myself (which i assume is what you have) so i look for bits fairly often and ive seen a few engines on ebay in the last couple of months.

One tip tho, watch the years of engine you look at, anything with a kickstart (up to 1979 i think) will be something like 28 bhp (or will have been when it was made ) and have 5 gears, the 80's engines are 42 bhp and have 6 gears, without the kickstart

I think they will probably all fit your frame tho, so should the 250 engines if you get desperate
