I tried renewing my policy with e bike and at the end of the renewal process I was told that there was a problem and I needed to contact the helpline. When I rang the helpline number it says that as ebike is an online company they answer e-mails first and if you want to speak to someone they'll put you in a queue and deal with you after replying to all of the e-mails and they'll charge you £1 a minute while you're waiting.
Why couldn't they have given the e-mail address on the renewal page instead of the phone number? As soon as you ring it's costing you a £1 a minute.

Me too or have you stayed with them. I'll be doing a comparison website when my insurance is due next month as I've been with the same company for 2 years and in that time have changed bikes 3 times, so hoping to get it cheaper this year. fcrossed.gif

as a matter of course I go onto comparison site every year to keep my insurance companies on their toes!

I haven't looked at a comparison website for a while - how do peeps find they cope with non vanilla requirements e.g. multi bike policy?

I would not put up with that at all - I'd be straight round my Mum's and ask her to make a coffee while I borrowed her phone lbhh.gif

Avoid that sh!te, and always look around; I bet you'll find it cheaper somewhere else.

I don't think I've ever used the same insurance company for consecutive years.

This year I went with Swinton, fully comp 50 quid cool2.gif (it sometimes helps being the wrong side of 35!)

I changed mine again this year - thought I was doing well at less than £70 but you did even better! grin.gif

I wouldn't use e-bike again after their last fiasco. Admittedly i ended up getting 3 months free Insurance but that was only after 3 weeks of phone calls, e-mails and letters and finally threatening them with the financial ombudsman. ...

I tried a couple of online insurers and found curiously their websites looked identical and I ended up with identical quotes.. naughty.gif

I'm usually a bit wary of those 'get so many months free' offers.

The price you pay seems to usually make up for it.

They didn't offer me free months, I ended up getting them when I forced them into giving me a complete refund for cancelling my policy without telling me.

They lost the letter I sent as proof of no-claims and hence cancelled my policy, I didnt find out for a week so was livid to find
  • 1) they had cancelled without telling me, only by letter which arrived 2nd class
  • 2) Charged me a £75 admin fee
it took me weeks of phone call, letters and e-mails and as I said eventuallt threatening them with an Ombudsman whereupon I got a complete refund of all monies.. hence... 3 months free..
