Hey guys,
Im still looking at a 600-800 cc commuter and came across the v-strom.
Anyone know much about them??
Seems a better seating position for a commuter.

There used to be a couple of members on here who had them. Seem quite a decent bike by all accounts.

The WeeStrom seems to have a good reputation. About the only complaint I've heard levelled at it (really from 1000 V-Strom owners) is that it's a little down on power. Don't imagine that'll be a big problem if you're not directly comparing it to its big brother.
If you're fitting luggage, it hangs funny. Because there's only an exhaust on one side, there's a big void on the other. I've seen two ways around this. One is to put a deeper pannier on the left, and bodge the brackets to hold it closer to the frame, and the other is to get a tube and bolt it to the bike - a fake exhaust, basically, that you can keep tools and essentials in.
And that's about everything I can tell you about the WeeStrom.

I had a Weestrom for a couple of years and did about 14000 miles. Lovely bike - no rocket ship but the V twin is plenty grunty enough. Very comfy, especially after I put a touring screen on. I found the front suspension was a bit too soft and you had to be extra careful not to use the front brake in car parks or you would topple gracelessly over. It has a huge fuel tank and is thrifty so you can do a lot of miles between fill ups. I had a centre stand on mine which made chain adjustment easier. Best thing about it? The induction howl when you really opened it up!
