Sorry..no idea!

from my understanding its one of those utterly pointless gizmos,

you press a button and bike backfires...

fear my google powers

They're either including an Airfix of the Soviet answer to the B1 bomber:
IPB Image

Or they're including a kit to shoot flames out of the exhaust.

A Backfire Kit, or Flamer Kit involves having a button on the dashboard / bars which cuts out the engine spark plugs and fires a plug in the exhaust. You rev the engine, and once it's spun up hold the button in. Flames shoot out of the back.

Very cool. If you're 12 and masturbate to The Fast And The Furious.

Flat bars and small round headlights, presumably. I guess it used to be half faired, from the description, and the fairing has been removed.
BikerGran
Cheers RC - didn't read it, just looks like a naked Bandit!

Right

i am a bit worried about this bike now

It was posted on gumtree near bristol 13 days ago and it was going for £1650
as you can see the pictures are identical

the name and number are different to the details given to me by ebay on the gumtree advert, why would this be??

Also they are asking for me to put the deposit of £250 into a different paypal account to the one that is associated to the item

It's all getting a little to fishy for me

i have spoken to the guy, his name ia James, he sounded ok but my fishy radar is going bonkers

What shall I do??

When do you plan to collect it?

If it is soon, tell "James" that to save him Paypal fees you will pay him the full amount in cash on collection.

That way you can check everything out before handing over the cash.

Have you done any checks on the bike, HPI etc?
Fourtoes
Sounds odd.

Tell him he can wait and have the full ammount on collection. He didnt ask for deposit in ebay advert.

Where are you?

Where is the bike?

Why are you not collecting it yourself?
andyb
Sounds a bit dodgy to me, stay well clear if I was you.

Poole

Swansea

Because It would be a pain in the arris to get there and drive back, nobody can give me a lift
Tom
I'd say if in doubt..walk away..plenty more out there.

Marry in haste..repent at leisure!

Would be a bigger pain to have it collected, then to be unhappy with your purchase.

£55 for a return train ticket for tomorrow, would take you 4hrs to get there.

Would be cheaper than getting a firm in to collect it for you, and also you have the option to walk away without buying (hence the return ticket).

Says in the ad "supplied with full undamaged fairing" I would still like to have a look at it though.
Kworn
the fecker has relisted the item without asking me if that was ok

...and it has already sold

Kworn
right on to my next bike

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=190417714648

I made an offer of £1200

and he came back to me with £1275
Fourtoes
Is this one any nearer to you? Go take a look at it.

As for the other one thats been relisted...you can always leave him -ve feedback.
BikerGran
No it's even further away - I just can't believe you'd buy a bike without you or at least someone else looking at it!
Fourtoes
To be fair BG. We've bought the majority of our bikes unseen. Maybe I'm a little gullible and rely on other people being as honest as me.

Mind you the most I've ever paid for a bike is £600.
Tom
I bought my zzr600 without seeing it..two years of (almost) trouble free motoring! cool2.gif

Bought it for 700 and sold it for 700! grin.gif
BikerGran
Guess I'm just old and cynical!
Fourtoes
Yep. On both counts. tounge1.gif
