Anyone know the rough book price for a 1989 Honda Bros 400. I'm going to go take a look at it tomorrow but i'm a little dubious of the quality of it. The guys runs a bike breakers and the advert says that they took it in part exchange for another bike they had. I rang him up about it and he said that it'd been sat in storage for a while so it'll probably need a bit of love (Which is fair enough) No tax or MOT obviously as it's been stored. He's asking £595 for it and I was wondering if that sounded about right. I've got a good idea what problems and noises and such to look for and I was hoping to either get him to bang an MOT on it or drop the price a little if he won't/can't. As I say, i'm not holding out much hope but it could be an alright little bike! fcrossed.gif

tl;dr - Is about £600 alright for an un-MOT'd, stood for a while 21 year old grey import Honda?

I did, they don't seem to have the bike listed, that's why I came here lbhh.gif

Cheers anyway!

That's cos they were all Grey Imports - never officially sold here. I have no idea on price but there's a helpful buying guide HERE .

Well that was amusing. The bike had all the markings and designations of the 650 version. It even had the shaft drive and the seller was insisting it was the 400! It had a few marks here and there, the inside of the tank was rusty and the bike wouldn't start. Told him where to stick it and buggered off! lbhh.gif

On the plus side I picked up an Admag from Asda on the way home, found a Kawasaki ER-5 for sale. Gave the bloke a ring and it all seems decent, the bloke also seems nice and I couldn't shut him up about it in the end! So i'm gonna go take a look at that on Saturday.

Every cloud has a silver lining eh? grin.gif
