Hi guys and gals,

Just looking around for quotes for renewal, and thought I'd try the Bennetts web site for a quote, and it was MUCH cheaper than my normal insurer (one third the cost). Anyone got any good or bad experience of them? Bike is only a standard 600 Hornet, nothing flashy.
Cheers for any views.

I was with them for a year, no problems here.

I had no end of problems with them last time i had a quote from them it was much higher than any one else
i now use the AA.

I have used them for my first year they were by far the best price. Now after being knocked off they want nearly double for my renewal but Carole Nash have promised to beat it.

Service wise no problems though

It's like any insurance really, you won't know how good they are until you actually need to use them :( (which fingers crossed you'll never have to wink1.gif )

I had insurance through Bennets on my first bike and had to use it. They were ok - I had to chivvy the solicitor along a bit myself, but in the end I got my claim settled even though the other party was denying any liability. Settled in full "on the steps of the court" but it took nearly a year.

Since then I've used a few others mainly because of cost - when I got the Fireblade they wanted 50% more than the best quote I got. These days I get a good combined quote from Footman James (having a Japanese classic helps no end).

The main issue with Bennetts is that they automatically renew your insurance without asking you....

Worth calling to make sure they take that of your policy if you do go with them (the number to call is in their T&Cs)

Wondering the same myself as their price is quite good but have found that the different comparison web sites must get differen discounts as now Devvitts is cheapest but only if I start my quote on comparethemarket...

Yes, that has always puzzled me, how come if you go through a comparison site most firms quotes are cheaper than if you phone them direct. The comparison sites take about 15% comision from the deal so why dont the insurance companys get their act together and give you the proper quote say 10% less than the comparison sites .....10% saving for you, 5% more for them, everyones happy (cept for the comparison leeches).

Because the comparison sites act as advertising for the insurance companies.
No such thing as a free lunch!

It is called business. Why would anyone cut their prices and make less profit if people are willing to pay. Not everyone uses comparison sites, not everyone will phone direct, not everyone will use a broker like Bennetts, Carole Nash et al. Each distribution channel has its own costs associated with it and volume of business it will generate.
