Just recently I have been having problems with my engine management light coming on intermittently. It only happens when I go over a hump or bump which temporarily sends the bike skywards. The light comes on for a few seconds, together with a loss of power, and then goes off again with normal service being resumed. I thought it might be a loose connection but it doesn't happen at lower speed over bumps so I get the feeling it is more to do with fluid movement somewhere.
Anyone experienced anything similar or got any ideas?
Regards,
Dave.

Best advice is to stay out of Coventry where there are more potholes than anywhere else I have ever seen...
No idea on the engine tho

I am pleased to say that I have now cured the problem. The cause of the problem was very simple but because these things are so damn complicated these days I had overlooked the obvious. Not the EMU/ECU, not the various sensors littered all around the engine - just a losse earth connection on the battery! Now running perfectly again. I did however check the sidestand sensor in the process of looking for the fault and found that it had come loose from it's bracket which meant that the engine did not cut out if setting off with it still out so saved myself a potential sore arris there. Worth checking if you've got one with a few miles on it.
Dave.
p.s. No intention of going anywhere near Coventry!
