Hi
can someone please assist me with this problem, i cant work it out from the wiring diagram.
It concerns the 2 wires which come from the magneto to the rectifier (1 pink and 1 green). it has a 2 prong rectifier so one need to attach one ( currently the pink) to the rectifier and the other prong must attach direct to the the battery for charging purposes.
which leave me with the green wire? what does this attach to? currently it not attached to anything.
i have tested the battery to see if im charging it whilst running , buts only slightly high volts than when not running, the manual states it should be around 8.5 from the rectifier pre conversion. but its only just around 6 v only a faction higher thn when not running the engine.
so i need to fing out where this green wire attaches to and how it all links together so it charges the battery
can any please help
thanks

I'd guess it's an earth, can't find a wiring diagram for that bike though. Check your indicators and headlamp and if they've all got a green wire coming from them ground it to the frame via a nice clean bit of metal, not through paint.

From what i can see in the diagram;
the earth is black and yellow,
there are 4 wires coming from the magneto (black; black and white; pink; and yellow).
The black,yellow and pink wires go to a 4 pin plug with the wire from the neutral switch (looks grey or green from the picture).
You should have 1 black and 1 pink wire going to the rectifier and one red one coming from it to the battery.
It loooks as though the black wire should run from the magneto to the rectifier seperately to the other wiring.
I'm not sure that would help you much unless youve got more wires hanging off somewhere in the loom.
Without seeing the rectifier and wiring thats the best help i can give, but i cant recall ever seeing a rectifier with only 2 connections, there are usually a few more.
Are you sure there isnt any connectors broken off/corroded away?
