my lights are dim and only brighten up a bit when you rev.i put on a set of spots and a 55w bulb in the headlight but they are still dim.could it be my battery as its smaller than the original.everything else works just fine

its a 2003 lifan lf 125-a custom a copy of the honda cm 125.i would post a pic but dont know how

OK, that helps.

If the battery is more than 3 years old, I'd be considering that first. Especially if your bike has been parked outside a lot. Though if you've got a multi-meter (and the specs of the alternator out puts) checking how much is coming out of the alternator would be worth doing.
After that, it could be the wiring and/or contacts/multi-plugs might be getting tired.

the bike would struggle with just an uprated bulb, never mind additional spots.
my advice, dump the spots, get the battery checked out & the alternator output, if they are ok then go back to the origional power H/L bulb & learn to live with it.
these bikes are built to a (low) price, you cant expect them to cope with extra lights-especially if you have a smaller battery than standard.
