Hi all

I got my new bike , a ninja 2008 . All is good ... But

When I put the bike on flat ground in the store , garage and level road the bike sits fine , but it feels like the kick stand should go further forward , now first day out on the bike all is good till I came to park , it took a while to find a bit of ground I could leave the bike on..

The problem is that when the bike is on the stand it sits very upright, not a prob in the garage or the shop , but I see this is going to be a issue on the road. I called the shop to see If there is any ajustments that I can make and I was told that is how they are now..

I dont think the bike has been lowered as this would have the same effect I guess , I will check the hight of the bike tomorrow.

Have any of you had this problem and how did you fix it.. I am thinking of grinding a few mm off the stop, with the hope to make the kick stand swing forward more which should lean the bike over more ..

Ant thought would be great .. thanks ..

Didn't know about ZX's but it's a common issue.

Might be worth trying a few Ninja forums, to see what solutions they've come up with.

Good luck

The only thing i can think of is that the bike has been lowered.. will have to check this out if so it will be going back to the shop to get sorted..

if its been lowered, then heating the stand & bending it away from the bike(in the down position) should solve your problem.
exactly what size ninja is it?

Have you tried turning the bars to the right when parking on the kickstand?

hi guys .. it is the zx6r . . I have not tryed turning the bars to the right, never thought of that will have a play today, I dont think it has been lowered Im 5"10 if it had I am guessing that it would not be to hard to tell...

my wife to be has a ninja6 & the stand is fine, although hers is an older model, as said before heating & bending it slightly will give you a better lean angle, but unless its been messed about with , it should be fine.
any evidence its been over on that side?
perhaps a pic of the bike on its stand would help.

I went to the shop yesterday , and told them about this I was thinking in the end that it might of been lowered.

I had it checked and it is all standard, we compaired it to other ninja600 and the newer ones do stand fairly upright, the guy in the shop said that kaw are known for this ??? he also said that the new gsxrs are the same..

I compaired my bike to the others and they were the same..

There is no signd of it being over , infact it is very clean showroom con that was one of the reasons I got it ..lol..

I looked at bending it out but I think it will take some force , and it would have to be heated, I dont have anything to heat it with.. might grind the stop back a little that should help..
