So, had a really good look over the bike last night with a mate who knows just about all there is to know about bikes (the man's a walking encyclopedia), who also happens to be an excellent mechanic.

Started stripping it down... so far we have figured out it needs....

new chain and sprocket set
new hoses and cables
theres a leak somewhere on the downpipes
someone has made spaghetti junction when fitting a tail tidy
all rubbers etc will have to be replaced (expected)
small leak on right fork
Carbs of course will have to be done
and all the usual guff like oil, plugs etc etc
Fairing needs some minor repairs, it's looking a bit tatty and has a couple of small cracks.
Plastics are like the fairing.

Good points...
the tank has absolutely no rust on the inside wwww.gif
Wheels are good
Engine sounds good
frame is in a good state
Our mate says that any Blade parts will fit (from the same year of course)

We'll be completely stripping it down and rebuilding anyway... so no biggie.

Let the TLC commence. eyebrow.gif

Not any more but I don't think she'd have minded. She had a Bonnie at one time and anyway used to moan at me for spending too much time in the garage so two birds with one stone grin.gif

btw, the Ribena is for the insurance company eyebrow.gif
