Hi iv have a malaguti drakon that i have sitting in a shed doing nothing so i have decided to do something with it, i am going to remove then engine and replace with a bigger one, i have researched all over the net for second hand 250 engines, i have found a few sites that sell parts from bikes that have been crashed or broken for parts.

cut a long story short, i have found a aprillia rs 250 engine and have decided that this engine is the most suitable one choose, i am also aware that engine will just fit straight in, i am going to have to customise it.

my query is with the engine itself, it uses an exhaust power vavle system controlled by a pullies that connects by wire to a regulator that is controlled by the ecu, i would like to know where these regulators are mounted on the rs250 frame so i have an idea how far away they need to be mounted on the malaguti frame after iv altered it.

Thanks

Sorry mate; I've haven't got a clue.

And before anyone else says anything, about the ECU location tounge1.gif

No idea about them, but the general consensus round here seems to be that the little Aprilias are fantastic wee bikes, but they get ragged something awful. Be careful that you're getting a decent engine, because a lot of them will have been wrecked.

If you're going to that much trouble, it may be best to strip the engine down a bit and check the bores, exhaust valves etc.

If you're getting one of those engines you'll need a manual, and that will show you other stuff like about the pulley you mentioned.
