cry.gif Bugger me......

trying to get the rocker cover off the ER-5 (which incidentally won't budge), i have drained the cooling system of water.

Thought it was empty......Wrong. As i have moved the pump it has dumped water onto the top of cylinder which has then run down into the cylinder itself......

What can i do?
I haven't touched it apart form the take the plug out...

Please help as the wife needs the bike for this afternoon and is threatening to use mine.....

Has it run down into the barrel via the plug hole then? If so, gently turn the engine over on the kicker/rear wheel till the piston is at top-dead-centre. Then use a rolled up towel poked down the plug hole to soak it out. Don't use kitchen roll as it may disintegrate. When it's all out then turn the engine over with the starter - plug still out - and that should fire any last dregs out.

If it's gone down the cam chain tunnel into the sump, drain the oil. Re-fill with clean and go for a short run - 10 miles or so - then drain again and re-fill with clean oil. That should get rid of it.
