Hi all,

I've got a 51' plate yamaha aerox of a friend that has been off the road for a few months.

she said it has trouble with the steering, turning right it seems fine, but turn right it seems stiff. I've had a look at the front end and can't see anything rubbing.

She has been told that the headstock bearings have failed, could this be the case as i cant feel any grinding.

what else could it be?

I don't know if the Aerox has a centre stand but one way or another you need to get the front wheel off the ground and able to turn freely.
try moving the handlebars gently from side to side. If they snag a little in the straight ahead position your head bearings are worn.if the handlebars tighten up more when you turn the bars to one side the bearings may have been overtightened. You may be able to adjust them but you'll need a manual to do this. You can get Haynes manuals for a lot of bikes from the library.

Just in case you need the manual..

..although I have'nt tried it so can't comment on it's quality..

while having a general look around the scooter, i found a wire that is hanging down in the bellpan, i presume it is for the temp gauge as it dosn't work, but i can find where it goes on the engine.

any ideas please?

thanks in advance.

Same answer as above, you need a manual! There's one for sale Here.
