OK, saw a 600RR 2008 with 12,000km on the clock and am thinking of getting it.... marked as fairing damage... Link to pics.. click on Meer Photos for the other angles.

We can see from the pics...
Fairing
Headlight
both left indicators
possible left handle bar end
rear light
tank
cover

Looks like he slid it down the road. But as a company I can get it for about 1200 Euro's less. (Tax Refund).
Was going to go see it today but forgot most car and bike shops are closed on a Monday here. Even though my ankle hasn't been fixed... think it could be a good bargain as all other 2008 models are around the 7-8k mark here (2nd hand).

Whatchu guys think?
insolentminx
without seeing it in person it's hard to guess...

and it all depends on the cost of fixing everything, parts etc. and if there's any damage done to the frame

the 600RR is a great bike though... i want one.
Paul
How long until the ankle is fixed?

Is it the bike you want?

Not sure on prices, but if it seems a bargin then worth a look.

How much do you really want a bike at the moment?

If the weather stays like it is here thinking about trading mine in for a boat....

Going to see it tomorrow... damage doesn't look to bad regarding the scratches... so don't think it went down with any great force... there's also a 2nd hand fairing there with no damage. Cost for fixing everything (that we can see).. we reckon about 1000-1500 euros and that includes spraying.

Have found this in Belgium... trying to find out how much it will cost for Importing... cos they're only asking 4,200Euro's... eyebrow.gif
Even if with the Tax and Import costs this might be a cheaper option.

Check out the price of new body panels - that could be the cincher. On my blade the headlight and indicators mount to the fairing, not a subframe, so if the fairing gets smashed there's nothing to mount the lights to. That looks like a smashed nose fairing, so you'll need to get a repalcement, and if Dutch prices are anything like UK, you'll be looking at 300-400 € just for the nose fairing, plus whatever else is broken underneath it. Which is all handy when it comes to haggling, but I'd check what else is broken.

OK... sent an e-mail to the guy in Berlgium... wait for it.... this is what came back!!

Hello,

I am glad that my Honda CBR 600RR has raised your attention and you want to buy it.
I live in Sunderland, England, United Kingdom. I am an construction engineer and i work to a new project " NEW HOMES FOR SALE in Sunderland ".
The moto is here, in England, with me. Because i work very much to this project, i cannot enjoy my moto and this is the reason i sell the moto. I am selling to this price because the price of this moto is very low. The moto is in excellent condition and is full functional, is like new and with clear title ready for new registration. The motorcycle has only 1065 kilometers. Everything works great and has no damage or scratch. I never abused the moto or ride it on rain. The moto was kept in a garage all the time.
As i told you before, the moto is here in England, and if you want to buy the moto i will send it to you, with any company i want, on my own costs. The final price for the moto is 4200 €.
Let me know if you are really interested for the moto and let me know where are you from ( city, country ). I am ready to sell the moto and i am waiting for your fast answer.
Please send me an e-mail in English if is possible and your phone number please.
Thank you,
Ivan Damian

So... please pass this around cos it sounds too dodgy... do you know of anyone who's had a bike stolen matching this description?

There's no plate showing in any of the pics, but looks like an under exhaust plate was fitted. He claims it is ready to be registered. Possible US bike... but also possibly a scam.

Just as a matter of interest....anyone live in Sunderland? Can ask him if we can have a look at the bike...

Well no wonder his grasp of written English isn't exactly glittering...

Nice looking bike though. Very tasty.

the first CBR you were looking at is all bent up...check out the fourth picture on the website, the subframe is bent way over to the right!

Nasty bastids
Stolen, sale scam, or spotted and the thief is waiting to steal it

I could be wrong but that black one looks a bit like a US market bike.

I'm in Newcastle, send em an email asking if i can have a look at the bike-if the seller is still ok, then i'm happy to take a look for you Linny.
BikerGran
Wouldn't mind betting there's no bike - he's going to send it to you at his expense?? Yeah, and he'll want paying first of course!
Vaanen
Linny, Just save and get a nice bike, or settle for an older one! If a bikes cheap, there's a reason! You won't get a decent 08/09 bike for the money your lookin' at! get an 04 ZX10R or something, you won't get bored of that for a while! LOL!

We figured the saving of a grand was worth it.... with the import costs and tax added it would have brought it up to about that.

Am now looking at buying one in UK... cheaper there cos of the differences in the way Tax is added and the low pound. Even with that it's less than buying here. 2nd hand 07/08 600RR in the shops here is 9k - 10k Euro's.
Not that I don't have the money Vandeen... we always pay cash for our bikes, just looking to spend less and who can blame me.

Anyhoo.... the damaged bikes we went to see yesterday were a no go. One has a deffo sub frame damage that we could see and another there (08 with 2,000 on the clock) is known by a racer friend of ours in the area, that's his local bike shop and he knows that bike. He said there is sub frame damage that he knows of but can't be seen.

So back to searching.
