I bought a tube of the stuff at the bike show. We get more rain here than some parts of the UK so anything that says it waterproofs, I'll try it. I've heard this stuff is supposed to be excellent for waterproofing leather, with some riders saying that they don't use their rain gloves or boots now.
Anyway, I applied the stuff yesterday and let it sit overnight as per instructions. It's left a waxy feel to all the leather, (like Belstaff ?) so I think it will probably work fairly well.
It's made in England so I was wondering if you guys had tried it?

My experience is that nikwax is good stuff mate. takes a ritual of constant application though as it does wash away in the rain. For leathers ive found that neutral coloured shoe 'cream' in tubes works just as well. For cleaning ive found rubbing in persil washing liquid ( clothes stuff not dishe stuff) with a nail brush and than a short 'lay' for a few hours before a dose of washing machine action will clean up even the grubbiest of textile gear!

Another tip for grubby textiles, is a bucket of warm water with Biological washing powder - then the washing machine (if you can't be arrisd to scrub).
Sometimes revives items that have been left in the (unheated) garage for too long!

re: Nikwax - haven't used it in ages - I tend to use Dubbin for my leathers nowadays. And rubber gloves under my leather mbike gloves!

Motorcycle Voyager was running a deal with Nikwax a while back, were they were giving away free samples. It looked like good stuff but still hasn't arrived yet.

Nikwax is more for boots I think. We used to use it when I was in the RAF. It doesn't really matter what you do with leather. As a rule it never stays waterproof for long.
