So the beemer is now in pieces, 4 hours to strip down apparently. The clutch is shagged as well aparently, never showed in the ride though, so as well as the starter cluch, a new clutch plate is needed.

Along with all this there are various nuts and bolts and washers and seals that will need to be replaced, the quote that my mate (Morpheous motorcycles) has come back with for the parts alone was £202, well after a little searching i have managed to get that down to £189 including P+P.

So i am looking at a ball park figure of £300 to get the beemer up and running properly. Not a bad price when you consider how much it would have cost at the going rate, but i have already spent £200 on it, and it cost me £500 to buy so it will stand me in about a grand. But it had a top end rebiuld not long ago and with all this extra work and new bits it should be prety well up to gether, so i am a happy bunny so far grin.gif .

Just have to figure out how to raise the cash. sniffle.gif

And i found a genuine front mud guard on ebay for a fiver so far, might have it. fcrossed.gif

The Beemers Back in town... look out Bristol... here i come.

Well it was picked up on tuesday, by wednesday it was in bitz and we ordered the parts, thursday afternoon i got the call to say it was ready to be collected... wow supper fast or wat.

I met my friendly mechaninc in the local MAG meeting place while they were having thier monthly meeting... mumble mumble politics mumble mumble.

And i have pictorial evidence.... Loook

The cost of the repair was dramaticaly reduced by the fact that the starter clutch was purely gummed up with a tar like oil residue which was rendering it inoprative, so a couple of hours in a parts washer brought it back to life and saved me £108.

But it did get a new clutch plate, rear crank seal and lots of new nuts and bolts, total cost to me £180, bargin. And it goes like a train... wweeeeee....!

I love a happy ending.. buttrock.gif

So what's the plan now. What do you still want to do to finish the project apart from the paint?

I am going to work on the body work, i need to widen the side panels and back end so they match the seat, and to give it a nicer shape.

I also need to fill the tank where the seat meets it as it does not match coz i have altered the angle of the back end. Then i need to find a belly pan and radiator cover, i have my eyes on a K100 front mud guard on ebay.

Then i have to decide on what i am going to do about the lights, the spots on there at the moment are just that , spots, they give a narrow beam and are usless at night realy.
Might go for 5 1/2 bates style, but i will keep an eye on ebay for anything unusual that i can graft on. I have been offered a set of R1 lights... mmm tempting but a little to similar to the CB900 Piaggio lights.

So if any one has any ideas, lay them on me and i'll chuck them in a pot and see what comes out.
