I have been trying to source a right hand side battery cover panel for a 2001 gilera cougar. as the shop i ordered it from six months ago have just decided today to tell me that it is a discontinued item. If it is in the metalic blue colour then all the better but i will consider anything as i intend eventualy to do a respray on it. please post a picture and a brief description of condition.

I am willing to pay for a decent one by the way, not looking for freebies. Or if anyone has any suggestions of where might have one in stock. I tried inta and bobs already.

Must be a common problem, theres a cougar on ebay for sale with exactly the same thing missing?

"Hi Tony,

Thanks for your enquiry, wow this panel is very popular unfortunately it sold within about 10 minutes of me listing it on ebay and this is the only cougar we have broken, it might ne worth trying a place called part finder they will send out a request to all the breakers on there system and hopefully you might hear something back, if not please keep checking as we do get bikes in all the time so may have another one soon."

thanks for that tony, i tried part finder once already and no joy but im gonna stick at it.
from what i hear there was a design flaw with the fixings for the panel in which when cold weather made them brittle the fixings used to crack and break off. seems like a rickinghorse/sh!t type situation.
i'll keep looking and if anyone does find one please let me know here.

They have them listed on the microfiche and they managed to get hold of a lot of parts for my lads Gilera for me.

Yeah ive had a look thru their lists and it says there is no availablity for this part at this time... basically they dont have them and dont know if they ever will i guess.
