Planning to be a rally maggot this year. Anyone know of any 'bike friendly' tents and sleeping bags? Where to buy and how much? Argos do a three man tent dome style for fourty quid but im not sure how small itll get for strapping onto the bike.

That tent zombie comes in a lil bag about 2ft long by about 10 inches round put that on ur bike no prob & you wont even now it is there

A mate of mine puts all his camping kit into a ruck sack ( including tent & sleeping bag ) but don't know if that would be a good idea for you.

Tried it once myself but it really affected my balance

I've got one of a similar size and it sleeps two with loads of gear easy.

I've got a set of soft panniers and they work a treat with your sleeping bag and tent on the pillion seat. I've even squeezed a tailpack on there. ooh2.gif

Course you can carry that on yer bike! I used to take same size tent on my baby Yamaha, with all the rest of the bits and pieces - sleeping bag, stove, spare clothes etc. It all packed away like this:

And gave me lots of living space like this..... I can't be doing with any less space, it doesn't feel like home unless I can spread my stuff all around!

It's nothing to do with tents but on the subject of what you can get on the back of a bike I bungeed a MZ ETZ 250'S engine onto the seat of a Suzuki Gp100 before, apart from it taking up most of the seat space the weight wasn't a problem.

Too subtle? No one get the nuance? Oh well.

When I were a lad in the trenches all we had were a corrigated piece o' tin over our heads n' a bucket to wash our smalls in IF WE WERE LUCKY n' we caught the shells jerry threw at us and chucked em back just fer fun.

And you say you were hard my son..I used the cold steel they don't like that up em. laughcont.gif laughcont.gif

Well for the record, we had to dig a hole about as wide as we were then dig a trench as long as we were at the top of it. Cover the trench with a poncho then peg that down and cover it with earth. Then stand in the hole poiinting a rifle into the unknown while our boots filled up with water . It was cold and sleeping in in was a fecking joke. If any enemy came my way theyd have slipped right by as i was so fecking tired i was snoozing standing up most of the time - and this was only on excersise!

I am not nor have i ever been hard. I say that i am tongue in cheek.
