Well, who would have thought that when you made a 'best offer' on ebay, the seller didn't check it and get back to you, it is automatically accepted and you find you have won the item Oo1.gif

So, as it has been (deleted to avoid embarrasment) years since I last looked at a 50cc bike, can anyone give me any info on the one below that I seem to have inadvertantly brought for my son.

Thanks

Can't say I understand your post - surely when you made the offer you intended to buy?

Not strictly. I had a number in my watch list and wanted to test the water on what the seller would accept on this one before I decided to buy it above any of the others. I assumed that when you make the offer the seller is contacted by ebay and then they get back to you to say whether they accept or not but it just popped up that it had automatically been accepted and I had won.

So yes, I was considering it but I didn't expect to buy it straight away.

It doesn't seem to be too bad a move as all the reviews i have read are good but wondered if anyone here had owned one that could give me any more info on it.

we know it as the derby senda-manic little thing with more gears than an artic & a knife edge powerband. its possible to get it up to 5th gear in as many yards!

hard work to get going, but once there a nice little bike.
not the best bike for a CBT, for the above reasons.

they seem to be a bit of a lucky dip, you get a good one or a crap one, but for that price you havent done badly. the horrible horrible chinese copies will cost 3 times that & wont last 2 minutes.

parts are not an issue AFAIK, but you might have to wait a while to get some stuff, service items are mostly off the shelf, the electrics are italian-dont let him leave it out in the wet too often.

Can't help with the bike, but re e-bay the whole point of best offer is that you are making an offer to buy the item at the price you offer and they can reject or accept that price.

Yeah, I get that bit but I didn't realise it could be set to automatically accept it, I thought the seller would review the offer.

Ah well, looks like I've done OK out of it and its taken away the hassle of poring over the pics to decide which to go for.

That said, there was a lovely little Suzuki X1 that i would have liked for him cool2.gif

Yep the seller can set a minimum they are willing to take. Saves waiting for bids etc. I think it works well when I've used it. I think more sellers should use it.

Wow
Are you talking about the 'buy it now' feature or is that something different altogether? I'm selling a Road Angel (for detecting speed cameras) at the moment if anyone is interested! wwww.gif

No, it has the 'Buy It Now' button but this also had a 'Best Offer' button which is what I used.

i may be wrong, but the x1 is too powerful for todays CBT rules, we've had issues over "classic" 125's on the CBT before.

It's a 50cc bike, not a 125.

X1 on ebay
