Welcome Ad,

To be honest, if you're going to buy it new, it might be work your while just buying a hack and trying to get through your test instead. The mito is undoubtedly a fine looking machine but if you get through the test, it won't be long until you're looking for something bigger. We all say we won't but it always seems to happen. blush21.gif

If money isn't a concern though, you could just say to hell with it and go for it but expect to have some repair bills along the way. I just heard of a bloke who owns a Aprilla 125. He melted the head on it and now can't afford to get it fixed. sniffle.gif There's the risk that we'll drop it and neglect it in some way because we're building up our knowledge of bikes.

I don't know what they're like for the test though. Maybe DP can answer that , since he trains CBT and DAS folk, he might have some experience of trainees on these.

Everything I've mentioned though has been for practical reasons. If you really want it and know the good points and bad, whatever decision you make will be the right one.

Dont think ill bother with a new one theres a lad near me sellin a resprayed one, stars an stripes, proper nice bike not a bad price either smile1.gif ive heard theyre not the best bikes for the test because they arn't too manueverable or somethin

If you can get a good price and the insurance is within you're budget, it's got to be worth a look.

thats how I see it mate, its a v.nice bike I've read other 17 year olds getting insured for under a grand so if all thats true then it could be a possability

when you do your CBT, do it on the schools bike-that way if you drop it -its not yours that gets broken-it amazes me the ammount of peeps who buy £3000 of bike & have never even sat on one let alone ridden it.
B4 you buy this resprayed(read crashed) mito talk to the training school, & decide what you are going to use the bike for-they wil tell tyou what restrictions apply regarding horsepower & age etc.

Can I add my bit here, As others have said go to a training school, use their bike and get through your test then buy a good used 125 to serve your apprentaship on or if you are allowed buy a modest 250. I dont know how old you are but if you are over 23 I understand that you can go for a direct access course and after that ride anything, Dont be shy about riding a good 125, Ive ridden long distances on one many years ago, Enjoy whatever you decide upon its a great hobbie
