Hi all,

Back from the dead after a long silence.... So, my gorgeous CBR600F (06) is still going on strong, but it's come to that stage in the biker-bike relationship where I feel a gift is required to appease the Bike Gods.

Specifically I was thinking of squeezing a bit more kick out of the girl, and the addition of a new slip-on seemed like the obvious way to go.

So, any advice on good performance "mods" available, and/or good exhausts? Pics are always good wink1.gif

Ta!

I don' think you'll get much from just a slip on apart from a better sound - you'll need to sort the fuelling too. So consider a power commander to go with, say, an akrapovic or micron race can. Of course, you'll not be legal with a race can fitted - your choice. Even then, just changin the can and power commander is unlikely to release much more than a handful of horses.

Alternatively, get a bigger bike grin.gif or look at an overbore.

Sometimes the power commander is not about giving loads more of power, but just giving a few more bhp and also applying them where they are need.

the PC sorts out injection, power delivery, etc.. smile1.gif

Some mods that I have done on my blade and you might want to do, where's some ideas.

Ohlins Steering Damper - Made a HUGE difference, should have been the first thing to buy...
Scorpion stubby can
power commander IIIusb
K&N air filter

Great suggestions, thanks!

What difference did the Damper and the Air Filter make? Bear in mind (for the latter) that my bike is fuel injected...

Absolutely. Sometimes just bunging a can on can cattle the fuelling so that it runs rough, with less power in some places. The power commander will improve the delivery across the range.

Well, the steering damper made loads of difference..

to be honest if I knew the good it made on the bike, it would have been one of the first things to buy.

The 954 is known for her light steering, this means that if you are really giving it some on a bend and you hit some bumps the steering can go light and give a bit of a wobble..

let's call it maybe a small scale tank slapper...
this could happen as well as when going over cat eyes on the road..
of course is nothing too much, just a wobble, but the steering damper just made the steering really sharp, with 21 different adjustable positions now it means that if I go over anything on a bend the steering stays exactly in the same place, giving more confidence when cornering...

Dont think the K&N made much difference, but the bike hasn't been setup properly with the power commander since I got the filter, so I need to fit the K&N and then get the PC setup.

Awesome. What about getting a smaller front sprocket? Any drawbacks?

Accelerated chain wear is about it. The smaller the front sprocket the harder the chain has to work.
