Hello there and thankyou in advance for any advice i'm sure you'll be able to offer.

During my last MOT the mechanic happened to mention that he thought my rear bush was a little worn and would need replacing. Some time later and not being too sure what he was referring to I gave the rear wheel a bit of a push and a pull and found that it was lifting, perhaps about an inch. I had a look at the suspension linkage and the area that seemed to allow the wheel to lift was the roller bearing nearest to the wheel. Is this what the mechanic was referring to? And if it is, would the bearing and the spacers need replacing or the whole thing?

Also, the bit of research i've done into it seems to be a little contradictory with some sources indicating a size for the roller bearings of20x27x26 and others 20x27x25, and ideas on which one is right?

This ones a little off topic, but, if i want to replace the seals on my brake calipers is there a way of getting the pistons out when you dont have access to compressed air?

Thanks again
Billy M
I think he's probably talking about the swing arm bushes( or bearings)

swing arm bushes best left to a pro mate, as for brakes, you can buy kits for most calipers and its quite an easy job, Many of us during our apprenticeships pushed the pistons out by accident.......Doh!!!!

What i did on my Bandit 600 recently to try to find out which of the many bearings was at fault was to remove rear wheel, then get a big screwdriver and whilst a mate lifted and dropped the swing arm repeatedly was to touch the screwdriver on each bearing including the swing arm and put the other end of screwdriver to my ear to listen for any movement, it helped me trace the dodgy one.

Whilst this worked for me, i'm sure some will disapprove of my method....but hey it worked grin.gif
