hi, this is my first post to this group so excuse any protocol errors!! i am looking to buy a carrier rack for a xv 750 yamaha, can anyone tell me a good web shop to look at, new or secondhand would be fine, cheap would be even better! its to fit a top box on so it doesnt need to be very big.
any advice on these bikes would also be appreciated - this is the first bike i have had for over ten years and is the first cruiser style one i have had.
cheers

welcome eclaire. best bets are the main suppliers like m&p online. either that or try some local bike shops or bike breakers.

First of all hello Claire. Try Renntec at www.renntec.co.uk they do racks for the XV750. not sure about adding a top box to them though they will be able to advise.

Givi also list a rack and topbox for the XV750 but they are not cheap.

Or you could try the Ventura bike pack system Ventura

Welcome Claire.

try heine gerricke as they do lots of shiny stuff for cruiers coz they sell really well in europe.
If you get a rack then its easy to fit any top box to it. All you need to do is buy the mounting plate ( usually plastic ) and drill the rack to suit with some decent nut and bolts to hold the mounting plate on. Just watch the load weight of the top box and dont exceed what the rack manufacturer recommends.

So where are the pictures of the beast then?

Welcome eclaire. I think its a XV750 that devilpaint owns. I've only ridden it once. blush21.gif If it is the same bike. I was damned suprised by the handling. Maybe its the low centre of gravity but that thing would lean over good style.

It didn't accelerate like a sportsbike but it made up for it in other areas.

I think Dave L's bike is a VN750 Davie - kawasaki but similar sort of thing although i think the vn is a four cylinder - i think.

the VN is a twin Zombie(& its the vn that i own Davie)-i'm going to tax both the bikes again come feb-too long w/out my own ride-i'm going to hijack one of the schools gs 500's tomorrow, of course the boss dont know it yet, but i'm sure he'll see sense.
the paintjob on the zzr is taking way too long -peeps just keep bringing me work, hence i aint got the time cry.gif cry.gif , so the cruiser may be my main ride (again) for a while.
a Question for you,
where does a DSA qualified Instructor (who also happens to be an Observer & VC of Northumbria advanced mototcyclists) go for a refresher course?-its been THAT LONG since i used the bruiser in anger.......
