A genuine tragedy, the boy was good. I was watching that race but, thankfully, nodded off after a hard morning's graft. That's about the only time I'm glad I missed something...

Really sad news. Considering the joy and excitement pro racers give to people,
it really makes you think. These guys take their life in their hands day in day out.
So very sad.

Watched this yesterday and was concerned when you saw the slide. All these track lads n lasses take the bikes to the limit a lot of us will never reach and all have my upmost respect regardless of finishing position. Sad day indeed and my deepest sympathy goes out to all affected by this sad loss of life.

Was glad to note that coverage of this incident by eurosport was appropiate to the situation and showed due regard for the rider.
