Just brought a new [and 1st] tank bag and just wondered .. is it enough to rely on the millions of magnets it has [4 in base and 3 on each wing] or just shut up and use strap too ? [just a bit worried about wrapping straps around the steering etc]
cheers

Been using a Heni Gericke one for a year now - albeit a small one for short runs. No issues here so far.

My small one does not have a strap and that is fine. The big one I use as little as possible because of its size but when I do I use the strap to be on the safe side.

Never had a problem from any tank bag (except with a baglux tank cover, leather too thick for the magnets to grip)

Best thing I ever bought (well apart from the bike!!!!!).
I do wrap the strap around the bars, never had a problem with that.

My little one actually has a label that says not exceed 81mph while using it.
The big one has a strap, so I use it for peace of mind.

Have just remembered someone's improperly secured tankbag come flying off on a trip once!!
However, this was the same tit who went to do a fast, flashy pull away/wheelie from a biker cafe once, all high revs and that...... After getting his bike fixed, he never forgot to take his disclock off again!!!

I did 1000miles around scotland last year using my cheap tankbag (from lidl of all places) I didnt use the strap but it stayed where I put it with no problems at all. I now use it to take my stuff to work everyday and it is probably the best accessory I have ever bought.
much safer than using a backpack too
