Anth, you really need to get your eyes tested and Billy, you'll still need to display a tax disc lbhh.gif
Billy M
lbhh.gif yeah, thanks for that Ian. It is a bit different in the looks department. but i do like its quirky 60's ish styling.

"TU 250 is considered by some to be the world’s ugliest bike!" laughcont.gif

How much they asking for that? And what will you de with it?
Is that a brown seat? For those high speed moments.

its in a dealers, so the asking price is £1,100 which is about right. not much i would change on it. a set of T bars and a custom seating unit, (maybe a solo seat) and i would probably change the exhaust too, maybe something a bit more upswept to go along with the 60's styling of the bike. but over all i like the look of the bike, and dont find it ugly in the least.
Fourtoes
Me neither. I think the seat is quite wide if I remember rightly. Seen only one in the Uk and I saw one ind Southern Spain last year. It does stand out from the crowd.

Have you seen one of these before...nice looking retro, theres on for sale at a local bike shop. Was tempted but got too many at the mo.

Billy M
thats very Goldstar looking, has the dealer got a website?
Fourtoes
Yep but its not on there.

It was in their shop last time I was there. Think they wanted about £1200 for it. Not seen them before and a websearch only brings limited results, but they do different versions and a trail bike version. Look good. Also known as the BJ250.

Thats really nice.

Do it Billy

well looks like i was too late to buy the bike, it sold this morning....oh well, back to looking i suppose.

Because of escalating tyre and servicing costs on The Pan I am thinking of doing a similar plan Billy, but I am looking to buy an old MZ around the 250- 300 cc and about the same in quids. gonna use for to and from work (50 miles a day) and any other odd running about, I figure it could save me about 2 grand a year and save me looking for a replacement for the Pan as well.

Glad I bought the 175's when I did.

How does NCB work if you have more than one bike?

I would want a commuter (maybe keep my CG) and a sports bike at some point but the thing that made me think that this wasn't a good idea was because you could only use your no claims on one bike?

(this is at least a couple of years away though).

That Kawasaki reminds me of the triumph bonneville.

I'd say you were well out of it Billy if you want something useful rather than just interesting - a friend of mine had one and it was incredibly slow for a 250!

What about the Superdream you were working on - that would be a useful workhorse?
Billy M
thats true, but if you remember the superdream is not for me.. though in saying that, the guy we're putting it together for just passed the theory part of his test, quite good considering he's only done a cbt and had an assesment ride in 2 years, he's never ridden a bike or had any chance to do any lessons in all that time...wouldnt it be good if he passed his test before deadboy did lbhh.gif

It really isn't what I would normally go for but I love it! Buy it!

There's two ways you can do it - I've got both bikes on one policy, so I get the full NCB. Depending on the bikes, and the insurers, you may not be able to do that, so you can often split the NCB between two policies. Of course, if you lose one NCB you tend to lose both regardless - those lovely insurance companies like to have things sewn up like that...
