well a similar topic to vandeens thread, but in this case for my bike, a varadero 125

what i need is some 35W spot/fog lamps for the front of the bike

done a search of ebay etc and all i get is 55W units which are too much of a strain on my wee battery.

(110W extra draw for what i want O.o)

so does anyone know where i can get any 35W spotlight/foglights ??

and also legality issues...vandeens topic doesnt quite answer these :S

Can't say I've seen 35w lights before, but from your post I guess they must exist.

Have you considered getting 55w lamps & putting in 35w bulbs?

As far as I can see (on the legal side of things)- if it's going to be wired into the same controls as the main lamp then it has to be white or yellow-ish and front facing.

But if you have a different switch for the spots, which would probably be easier to setup anyway IMO, then it doesn't matter what colour they are as long as it's not used on the road.
And E&B's got the right idea- get the 55w spots and just get smaller lamps to fit inside them.

But why would you need spots on the Vaddy?

Did you get the idle sorted on your CG?

smaller bulbs in 55W attachments? would that work ok?

need extra lighting on the front as the baby vara (so would be white anyways) has a poor light pattern which isnt good at night :S
the headlights already on the bike are 35W bulbs, so i thought 35W spots/fogs would work well

it would be either hard wired so they were on all the time or so that they would come on with the high beam

the 55W draw too much power (apparently) as found out from a thread via another forum (killed the battery whilst the guy was riding which i found strange :S)

i thought 35W would be good as they are smaller and wouldnt be much extra draw on the battery

Anth: i think ive got the CG sorted, my vara was assesed today by the insurance guy, he said it needs further investigation for the rear swing arm (i really hope its not going to be a write off sad1.gif)

The different bulbs will be fine- think of it as the same as changing your 80W bulbs at home for 40W ones instead.

As long as the ampage rating for the bulbs and the fitting is the same, it shouldn't be a bother
SyRexx
ahhh i mite do that

bleh gotta wait til insurance sort themselves out first tho sad1.gif gotta keep nagging them :S
