My pal is looking for one and isn't too bothered about the condition. It was the bike he owned and loved as a youth. (yoof... )
If any of you folks, know where he can get his hands on one, he's be extremely grateful...
I'll pass on the info..

Their like gold dust Dave, and even when old Brit bikes do become available the cost is normaly in the thousands. So unless he's lucky and finds one in an old barn/garage that no-one else knows about, it will cost him to own one of these.

Yep, it might be cheaper to buy a restored one.. He's the manager of an engineering shop. If he can get the bike, he has the contacts and favours to call in to get it back on the road. It's finding the bike that will be the problem.

even the fully restored Brit bikes are going for stupid money have a look at this 1972 Triumph Hurricane so god only knows what sort of price he'll pay for a 60's/70's Daytona.... you would probably be better pointing him to something newer but still with the Triumph badge, maybe the Bonny TT legend?

A few years ago I went to see '77 Boneville that hadn't been used in 15 years, was a bit rusty, needed a complete overhaul, including tyres, chain etc, and had an engine fault. I offered £1000 for it and the bloke almost laughed! God knows what he thought it was worth. People ask silly money for British bikes that probably weren't that great to start with!
