hi guys, just wondering if anyone knows anywhere that will chrome the wheels on my 92 cbr 600 f, i've emailed loads of chroming places but they all said they dont do alloy wheels.
i know it can be done as i've seen escort rs turbo and cosworth wheels chromed, and i saw the stall that did them at a show a few years ago but cant remember what they were called or find them on the net.

i got big plans for my bike over the winter, i'm buying a racing fairing and cutting in the foxeye headlight from a fireblade, spraying it matt black with chrome style graphics, mirrored screen, and hopefully chromed wheels fcrossed.gif

Another thing i was wondering is how hard would it be to fit the upside down forks from the fireblade of same age? is it possible? has it been done? would certainly be cheaper than £1200 for new ohlins ones

any help greatly appreciated grin.gif

dont know about chromeing bike wheels mate, but i do know that there is a silver/chrome like powdercoating that can be done, fraction of the cost and easier maintained than chrome mate...check the powder coat thread...woolfie has his blade wheels done and they look the dawgs

don't people just polish em? there's plenty of places that will polish them up for ya, you could even do it yourself but i'm told it's a seriously messy buisness!

If you're worried about corrosion after polishing i suppose you could have a laquer coating on them but i dunno if it would take properly.......someone else might know tho..........anyone?

oh sounds good, do you have a link to this thread i cant find it in search

Only thing I would say (and it's only going from the photo) is that it looks like more of a diffused finish than chrome. You wouldn't be able to use it as a mirror, but it'll certainly shine.

I would say its like a polished alumimium if that helps?

yeah, that does look good though, i'm seriously considering it.

so does any1 know about fitting fireblade forks to my bike?

I dont know about fitting Blade forks to your bike Johnny..but ask on here.. http://firebladeriders.forumotion.com/index.htm these guy's will be abe to tell you. on the other hand, as the front wheel for your bike is used on the 17" conversion of the blade frontend, then im wondering if you may well get away with just putting on a blade 16" wheel, but as i said...im only wondering and dont know for sure.
